OPENING NIGHT FOR TUESDAY MARKETPLACE WILL BE FULL OF MUSIC AND FUN..

What:   Hillsboro Tuesday Marketplace – the best place to be on a summer Tuesday Evening!
When:  Tuesdays June 12 – August 28, 2012. 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Where: Downtown Hillsboro Oregon

Hillsboro Tuesday Marketplace will be back June 12 for its 14th season of providing a summer, Tuesday evening community festival, farmer’s market and gathering place in historic downtown Hillsboro.

Our opening night again share the spotlight with  the Hillsboro 2020 Vision Town Hall Event on the Tom Hughes Civic Center Plaza. With music on four stages this year, The Hit Machine Band opens on the David Johnson Stage for a ‘night you will never forget’. Performing on the Plaza, Hillsboro High school’s Blue Contra Jazz Band and other local musicians and singer songwriters perform on our ‘Who’son 3rd?’ and our new Second Avenue Stage.

The Market is FREE to the public and features some of the Northwest’s best bands and local entertainment. You will find fresh locally grown produce, fruit and flowers, fine art from local artists, crafts produced by regional artisans, a wide range of international foods from local restaurateurs.

You can stroll our Cruise In Tuesday’s Street of Classic Car Dreams,
gather information from community organizations, and learn from our educational & health programs.

We are encouraging visitors to ride their bikes to the Market and the Washington County Bicycle Transportation Coalition will watch your bike while you shop offer safe riding tips.

The Hillsboro Tuesday Marketplace is governed by a board of directors comprised of local corporate and community leaders who volunteer their time and talent to assure the Marketplace’s continued success.

The Hillsboro Tuesday Marketplace is a weekly summer outdoor festival and farmers’ market in downtown Hillsboro Presented by community volunteers and supporters for the community. A private non-profit organization, the Marketplace is free to the public and takes place every Tuesday evening during the summer (June 12, – August 28, 2012).

The market originated in 1998 to bring people to Historic Downtown Hillsboro while major sidewalk renovations might have otherwise kept customer away from downtown businesses. It also provided local farmers and crafters another market venue for selling their goods. The event was embraced by the community, and has become a favorite summertime tradition for people of all ages and walks of life.

Join Xerces Society’s Eric Mader for a workshop on how to support these often overlooked and undervalued allies on your farm or in your garden. Workshop will include a presentation and a farm walk to look for insects and habitat.
